VIVID receives recognition from 2006 Canadian Events Industry Awards

Delta, BC, Canada - Vivid Lighting Solutions, provider of LED lighting and design services to the film, television, theatrical and special events industry, has been nominated for a Canadian Event Industry Award in the category Best Use of Lighting.

Vivid Lighting Solutions and PWG Lighting Services teamed up to design and produce a unique LED set for the Applied Materials Global Sales Meeting which took place in Vancouver last February.  “The concept we felt would best meet the clients’ objectives involved using LED lit louver walls, rotating panels and screen surrounds” explains company director Tim Smart.  “Because virtually all of the visible area was LED programmable, we were able to create many different looks, and the tone for each segment of the event could be adjusted by simply changing colours.” Vivid and PWG also received a nomination for the lighting design at the 2005 Grey Cup Player Awards which took place at The Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts, and was televised live on TSN.

The only supplier of this product in Western Canada, Vivid Lighting Solutions has produced flexible stock sets which are now available for rent, and also offers design services to create custom sets or applications for events from small to large.  “Lighting directors and event producers find the LED product we offer flexible and usable in many event applications,” explains partner and Lighting Director Phil Guhl, “the benefits of LED technology inlcude its’ low wattage, its dry or wet environment applications and the multitude of color creations that can be produced.”

Vivid Lighting Solutions is a specialty lighting company that is focused on the integration of LED lighting to the film, television, theatrical and special events industry.  The two year old company combines thirty years of special events expertise from Technical Director and Producer Tim Smart and Lighting Director Phil Guhl.
